Cotton Fields on Midway Road

Sometimes someone just hands me the inspiration for a painting. In this instance it was more of a request than an inspiration.  I was talking to a friend last month, Deputy Jason Shoemaker from the Iredell County Sheriff’s office, and he suggested that he would like to see me paint the cottonfield that was currently in bloom at Midway Road.  I knew exactly where it is was that he was talking about, since I used to live in the north part of Iredell County, and I used to go by that field in the fall when I headed north on State Hwy 115.
